Erik is an Associate at Ryan Swanson, working primarily in the litigation department.
Before joining Ryan Swanson, Erik worked as a law clerk for the Honorable Mark L. Carman at the United States District Court for the District of Wyoming where he oversaw Judge Carman’s civil docket throughout the State of Wyoming and the State of New Mexico and offered legal assistance in all stages of litigation. Before moving to Wyoming, Erik worked as a law clerk for the Honorable David T. Schultz at the United States District Court of Minnesota where he drafted orders on motions seeking everything from bankruptcy stays to halted deportations.
While in law school, Erik worked as a judicial extern for the Honorable Richard C. Tallman at the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit in Seattle. He served as an Articles Editor for the Journal of College and University Law. Erik also worked as a certified law clerk for the Notre Dame Legal Aid Clinic.
A fourth generation Washingtonian, Erik was born and raised in the Seattle area. On weekends in the winter Erik can be found at Crystal Mountain, where he co-ed a guidebook to its South Backcountry. In summer, Erik continues apace towards his goal of visiting all 50 states and all 61 national parks.
